:I've actually been replacing 'symbol' with the more Latinate ''nota'' lately. However I'm afraid that in Greek both [[σύμβολον]] and [[σύμβολος]] exist—the latter seems rarer, but all my Latin dictionaries extensive enough to contain the word prefer ''[[symbolus]]'' to the alternative, e.g. [http://perseus.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/cgi-bin/ptext?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.04.0059%3Aentry%3D%2347214] —[[Usor:Mycēs|Mucius <span style="font-variant:small-caps">Tever</span>]] 13:17, 28 Iulii 2007 (UTC)
