Imagunculae
These images are used as marking icons to separate different sections on a Victionarium article page, when the gadget "NewLook" is active (enabled by default). The usage is declared in MediaWiki:Gadget-newlook.css. There are still some issues while expanding some SVG files into a background image (unwanted cropping).
Quotations
- Vir qui nationem regit.
- Leo est rex animalium.
- Only working in article namespace? → rex
MediaWiki:Gadget-legacy.js: translated "quotations" to "verba allata".
Categories
Module:sectio: Creation of grammatical categories is inhibited due to incorrect name composition. Disabled invocation of
- function _fact_category(code_lang, typen, flex, loc, key, gender, title)
- in function p.entry(frame)
until all bugs are fixed. Wrongly named categories are to be deleted.
Erroneously created and maintenance categories are placed into the hidden maintenance category Categoria:Victionarium:Curatio.

Translations Editor
Imported more transliteration modules for non-Latin scripts (Source: en:Wiktionary Transliteration modules). The follwing ones are available now:

Translations
To be fixed:
generates a wikilink to sh.wiktionary instead of sr.wiktionary.
There must be some redirection from "sr" to "sh" inside the code of the t+ template or the invoked Module:translations|show
.
- Created
Module:sr-translit
(derived fromModule:sh-translit
) to assign the correct transliteration script.
- Fixed 2016-10-05.

MediaWiki files containing text provided by {{int:wikt-…}} insertions.
The Latin text is generated by the following files (other languages are available):

Recent MediaWiki software update caused issues with collapsing tables and Javascript. Fixed the problem by a workaround in MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition. ResourceLoader needed additional parameter "type=general" to load the files legacy.js and legacy.css correctly. Other Javascripts might be affected too.

After consolidation of the Victionarium categories system, now beginning to update the help system to the recent state. All help pages will be located now in category Categoria:Victionarium:Auxilia. Created new pages to describe the main-namespace page structure by using the recent subdivision and part-of-speech (pars orationis) designators:

Categorization of Modules
Since categorization of modules doesn't work reliably, the following list is the result of an attempt to gather all modules available on Victionarium:
2017-12-30
Imported new and updated transliteration modules:
- Module:ar-translit, Module:ar-translit/testcases, Module:ar-translit/testcases/doc
- Module:Armn-translit, Module:Armn-translit/doc

Imported new transliteration modules:
- Module:hi-translit, Module:hi-translit/doc, Module:hi-translit/testcases, Module:hi-translit/testcases/doc
Lingua Iberica vs. Lingua Georgiana
Lingua Georgiana should be identical to Lingua Iberica. Vikipaedia has information on Linuga Georgiana only. There's no evidence of "Lingua Iberica" and where it might come from. Categoria:Lingua Iberica is empty. The Georgian language ka and -ka- templates originally showed "Iberica", but there isn't any content under "Lingua Iberica".
2018-04-20 — Overview on Translation Entry Form Language Modules
From en.wiktionary imported language modules used in translation entry form:

These modules are modyfied copies of 2016 en.wiktionary. There are only a few changes which should be saved. Before any importing/updating takes place, the modules have to be deleted.

Collapsible tables
Since today all collapsible tables on Victionarium have become dysfunctional. Tried to solve the problem by importing updates of the involved modules Module:columns and Module:parameters from en:wiktionary, but without success. It seems to be a fundamental Javascript problem.
The updated modules have side effects on inflexion tables too. I disabled the Formula:collabi template until a solution to this problem will be available.
2018-11-05 — Fixes
By borrowing MediaWiki:commons.js from en.wiktionary and making an alternative collabi template using NavFrame elements, at least collapsible inflection tables are functional again. But only for my own account, because I couldn't modify the MediaWiki files of Victionarium for maintenance. I don't know why, but in spite of my administrator rights all files are locked now, making any serious maintenance virtually impossible.
The translations editor still doesn't work. I didn't find any traces of what had happened since the last MediaWiki software update, that could cause the total dysfunction of the Editor script.

Trying a workaround to add a new icon used with the template Formula:conexus
Since the general administrator rights had been downscaled to nearly nothingness, the MediaWiki files are no longer accessible to be modified by an "simple" adminstrator. When I have to add some new gadgets or anything concerning to a gadget, it can't be done by modifying the corresponding MediaWiki files, as for example MediaWiki:Gadget-newlook.css.
As long as there's only needed some new style sheet code, the <templatestyles> mechanism can be used to bypass the MediaWiki .css files.
The Victionarium "Newlook" user interface is based on a framework of Lua scripts with templates as front end. There are exceptions like the translations entry editor, as well as collapsible sections and tables, based on the functionality of Javascript. To introduce a new section header with icon, something like
Nexus externi
by Formula:conexus using a Lua entrypoint "conexio", the corresponding code has to be added to the Module:sectionibus/data subpage and the style sheet class .icon-conexio has to be declared inside the Formula:conexus/style.css subpage.
Is there any workaround to avoid Javascript? This question still remains.

New combined “Salve!” template in Latin and English
Salve!
SalveSalve, YaganZ/diurni commentarii, and thank you for your contributions so far. If you are unfamiliar with wiki editing, take a look at how to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. You are encouraged to add a note to your user page showing your proficiency in Latin. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! If you have any questions, bring them to the Taberna, or ask me on my talk page. If you do so, please sign your posts with four tildes: ~~~~ which automatically produces your username and the current date and time. |
